It should be noted that some substances can be dangerous, especially for very young children, and should be avoided in products:

Solvents, alcohols and cooling substances such as mint and menthol can quickly lead to hypothermia. This can disrupt the blood-brain barrier, which in turn can lead to hallucinations. These ingredients also cause severe burning of the eyes and mucous membranes.

Essential oils can have allergenic potential in children and cause airway blockage.

Preservatives can cause dermatological problems.

DEET is suspected of being carcinogenic. (DEET is not used in any BALLISTOL product!)

For the above reasons, no other substances have been used to protect the sensitive skin of infants and children and avoid complications. By applying the product as a lotion, which is very quickly absorbed, unwanted rubbing into the eyes and mucous membranes is avoided.
