The AR Series Taper Crimp Seater is designed to be more forgiving when reloading various case lengths at the same time. This is important because it can be difficult to keep all cases the same length when reloading, especially when using brass that has been fired multiple times.
When the Taper Crimp Seater is used with cannelured bullets, it can effectively eliminate case neck crimp bulges and buckled shoulders. This is because the taper crimp applies a gradual, uniform pressure to the case neck and bullet, rather than the sharp, more aggressive pressure of other crimping methods.
