LEE MOLD R.E.A.L. .58 CAL. 440grs DOUBLE CAVITY

Lee Double Cavity Mold produces a 58 Cal. diameter 440 grain bullet.

R.E.A.L bullets are tapered so it will fit into barrels with a variety of bore/groove dimensions. Unlike SAAMI standardized cartridges, there is no agreed upon standard for muzzleloading rifle or pistol calibers. The largest diameter is .592" at the top of the bullet and graduates down to .005" increments on each band, ending at .577". To achieve the specified diameters, these moulds must be used with pure lead only!

By stepping the driving band diameter of the REAL bullet up from the base, one of the grooves is going to be large enough to engrave into the rifling. On the looses barrel the bullet will drop in all the way to top driving band, in the tightest barrel you might have to push the bullet in with your thumb to engrave the base band.

The base driving band of the R.E.A.L bullets is designed to be small enough to start into the barrel with just thumb pressure. This is so the center line of the bullet stays aligned with the center line of the barrel. The top driving band of the R.E.A.L bullets is large enough to engrave into the rifling, and the tight fit ensures that the bullet stays seated down against the powder charge.
