Hornady Overall Length Gauge (OAL) - Straight

The Hornady Overall Length Gauge (OAL) is a tool used during reloading to accurately measure the optimal cartridge length in relation to the chamber of a specific firearm. This length determines how deep the bullet will be seated in the case, affecting shooting accuracy

This straight gauge is ideal for bolt-action rifles, single-shot firearms, or any firearm with direct access to the chamber.

Measurement accuracy is 0.001".

OAL Gauge Features:

1. Modified case of the corresponding caliber is screwed onto the gauge.
2. Bullet is inserted into the case, and the tool is inserted into the cartridge chamber.
3. The bullet is then gently pushed towards the muzzle, and the overall cartridge length (OAL) is measured.
4. The gauge will show the exact cartridge length (at which the bullet contacts the rifling grooves).
