Brass Starline Basic – 6,8
Un-tapered W/No caliber designation
1.71 - 1.73 O.A.L.
Small Rifle Primer
This case is the same as standard 6,8 SPC brass, except that it has not been formed and has no caliber designation on the headstamp. It is ideal for most 6,8 SPC-based wildcat cartridges.
This brass has not been annealed and will require body annealing prior to forming and possibly neck annealing after forming, depending on how far the neck is reduced. Wall thickness at the case mouth is approximately 0.009", the same as standard 6,8 brass before forming (walls will thicken and the case will lengthen during forming). Length is approximately 1.720".
The 6,8 Basic case can be formed into American .30 BHW, .30 HRT, 6.5x6.8, 6.8 GPC etc.
NOTE: Since this is a basic case, and Starline has no control over how it is formed, we accept no liability and offer no warranty in its use or your inability to properly form cases. We also recommend keeping pressures within SAAMI limits of the parent case. Since this case has not been formed there may be more out-of-round mouths than normal.
WARNING: In firearms that use a floating firing pin (such as the AR-15 and its variants), dropping the bolt on a chambered round could lead to a slam fire. It is important that these firearms are loaded from the magazine so that the bolt loses inertia when it strips a round from the magazine. It is also important NOT to use sensitive primers that aren't designed for use in an AR, as this increases the chance of a slam fire.
