Until 2017, all CZ 557 had a long action and the same stock size. In the course of 2017, Česká Zbrojovka started to produce two types of stock, varying according to the action length. Weapons in .243 Win. and .308 Win. are now with a shortaction, while in the caliber 6.5x55mm, .270 Win., 7x64 and .30-06 Springfield have a long action.
